It was great seeing my 14 year old son Drew after 2 weeks away. We both missed him so much. He was safe, healthy and happy. Now we get to work out the wrinkles in school since I've been gone.

I just spoke with Karen (12:30PM Thursday) and she is still doing great. They've changed her catheter bandage to a clear 1 week type, so that her sister doesn't have to worry about changing it. Seems she couldn't keep the rubber gloves from sticking to the tape or the other way around. Actually they were probably ready to change to that type anyway, but Lynn is still happy about it. We hope that each day will go pretty much the same for Karen as she counts the days till her blood counts go back up. She is getting a lot more sleep, probably due to the low counts and the process catching up a bit.

To our friend Sue Baron, we wish you all the best in the world. If there are any questions you have, please do not hesitate to ask. We've learned a lot since we've been at Duke and anything we can pass along that would help we'd be glad to share. Your doctor sounds caring and that goes a long way in this process. The decision will be a difficult one and one that you will probably second guess always, but for Karen and most of the others at Duke it has gone fairly well. Good Luck and keep us informed.

Harry
